Last week I shared my initial thoughts on Hoki, the fortune telling solitaire game that takes about 5 minutes to play and is slightly addictive 🤩. If you missed it, check my previous post!

Since the Kickstarter campaign is launching today I thought I’d use the chance to tell you more about the “legacy” aspect of the game!

🌟So Hoki actually follows a story with 3 Acts: The first one is a tutorial with some story in a small booklet to set the mood and to provide some tips while you learn the game. 😉

Act 2 and 3 are achievement based challenges, where you’ll play the game again and again, and try not only to solve the puzzle, but solve it in a specific way. If you succeed, you’ll unlock the Act 2 version of the cards. This way you’ll upgrade your deck step by step with new artwork. I am somewhere in the middle of the journey here, I’ve managed to unlock plenty of cards already! As you go further on the journey, it becomes harder to unlock the missing cards! 😄

If you manage to tackle Act 3 too, you’ll have a whole deck of colorful cards with the arts I showcased in the pictures! (Please note: I am playing the prototype, so any components might change in the final version)

💬 This legacy aspect is really a nice touch in my opinion, and I would definitely recommend trying it, but you can enjoy Hoki even without it… Since the card upgrades are purely cosmetic, you basically have 3 decks at your disposal if you wish to play Solitaire but with friends or family 😉
