Travel through times together

After just a few plays The LOOP has become one of my favorite co-op games. 😍 And that is a tough spot because we have and love a lot of co-op games. This is not a new release but I couldn’t resist picking it up at GenCon because I was so hyped for it. It was a good decision! 😁
In the game you are time agents battling the evil Dr. Faux, who is cloning himself and doing all kinds of shenanigans in different eras, slowly but surely leading the space-time continuum to destruction. 🙀
What excites me about this game? 🤔
🤝 Pandemic-style coop: Each turn something bad happens that you will need to tend to with the help of your actions, while working towards your missions.
🃏 Card management and deck-building: Instead of an action point system you use cards to interact with the elements of the game. Cards are very unique and often with very specific abilities - each turn you will have to cobble together a plan to achieve what you need. A lot of thinking and creative solutions.
📀 Rondel: The board is made up of 7 slices representing 7 eras in time. It can be hard to get around to where you need to be.
🧟 Clones: I love the way these work. To get rid of them you have to cause a paradox by moving them into their origin era. Your cards help you move them in all kinds of ways.
🛕 Cube tower: Each turn rift cubes are added via a three-way-chute-tower, so you are never sure where the cubes go. These can make eras blow up, possibly losing you the game.
🧾 Missions: They are randomly chosen for the game and all require creative thinking.
🎗️ Looping mechanic: You can do awesome combos by spending energy to reactivate exhausted cards that have the same icon.
🏅 Unique characters: Each has a special ability and a unique starting deck. Your strategy will be different with each one.
🧩 Multiple game modes: The base box comes with 4 game modes all with different objectives and rules adjustments.
If you like games like Pandemic, Horrified, Flashpoint, Dead Men Tell no Tales, Sub Terra etc. you will love The LOOP. 🤩
🔻 Maybe the only downside is that randomness can sometimes destroy even your best laid plans, and quickly lose you the game.
