Tiny but epic adventures

In βš”οΈ Tiny Epic Dungeons βš”οΈ you play as an adventuring party exploring a dungeon, trying to find and defeat the evil Boss 😈 before your torch goes out – and also trying not to get overwhelmed by hordes of goblin lackeys in the meantime.

I am usually a bit wary of Tiny Epic games – they are always good, but not necessarily great. I am pleased to say though that Tiny Epic Dungeons is more than great 😍 – it delivers a quick playing yet strategically deep co-op dungeon crawler experience that many bigger games fail to do. πŸ’ͺ

You will be exploring the dungeon, uncovering map cards as you go along. Sometimes you discover rooms with beneficial effects to use, other times you trigger traps or find yourself ambushed by goblins or bigger minions. πŸ™€ Your goal is to defeat all minions and find the Boss Lair. You don’t know which Boss you are fighting against until you enter its lair. Killing the Boss is also more difficult than just shooting it full of arrows πŸ˜… – it has some wards protecting it so you have to lure it to certain spaces in the dungeon to weaken it.

You also have to keep slaying the goblins that appear because if you would ever have to place a fifth one, you lose. ☠️ There is also a torch marker that is moved downwards after every player’s turn, which triggers spawn or enemy activation events. The torch reaching the last space also means immediate defeat. ☠️

Skill tests and combat are made with dice rolls 🎲 – but it is much more involved than just rolling and seeing if you succeeded. 🧐 There are many modifiers from your loot or spell cards and there is dice mitigation too. They also have a clever design twist on the dice – the 1 and 2 faces have a plus symbol which you can add to your chosen β€˜main’ die value. The faces might also have focus or health icons which can help you regenerate your stats.

I also love the spell and loot cards that you get randomly. πŸ₯° Some loot cards belong to sets – the more pieces you have of these the stronger the set bonus is, similar to e.g. Diablo or MMORPGs. I also absolutely adore the screen printed meeples for the goblins and minions. πŸ”₯
