The UKGE 2023 haul!

The UKGE 2023 haul!

This is our #ukgamesexpo haul.
Well it’s pretty small. 😶 I’d like to think it’s because we are growing as gamers and not buying everything in sight, but I believe it has more to do with the fact that we were traveling by airplane, and that many big release are planned for GenCon and SPIEL. So I guess we are saving money to splurge during SPIEL! 😂

🌸 Iki Akebono was our biggest must-buy. We love Iki with its rondel-y goodness and fun engaging gameplay. This will nicely expand upon it with more stuff and a 9th space with completely new actions and mechanics. Can’t wait to try it!

🦍 After Us seemed super interesting plus we also realized they only have a limited amount of copies (with a limited Big Ben cover art 😮) so we decided we needed it. 😅 The Vincent Dutrait art is also hard to resist. It’s a fun card-connecting optimization deck-builder that we will cover soon, so stay tuned. 😉

🎏 Hiroba was one I had my eyes on for a while. As Hachette had a buy-3-get-10%-off promotion, it turned into an impulse buy - which turned out to be worth it, as the game is great! An abstract area-control game with Sudoku rules! 😁We tried this with Agnes and Diogo of @bearwithmeeples and I think it was fun and quick with 4p.

🏢 Hegemony: Lead you Class to Victory seems super interesting and we were bummed not to have backed it during Kickstarter. Now it was the perfect opportunity to add it to the collection. 💪 I am curious how it plays. The rules themselves seem pretty daunting. 🙉

🌌 One Deck Galaxy was one I wanted badly as I am a fan of One Deck Dungeon, so it jumped into our shopping bag as we had some “unneeded cash” remaining. 😂

🥷🥋 Micro Dojo was graciously given to us by Ben from Prometheus Gamelabs . It looks super cool, and we enjoy playing Micro Bots from him as well, so I am interested in trying this! I find micro games so fascinating in general, and this one fits just into a normal envelope! 🙃

We also have some new games that arrived shortly before UKGE, - Ostia and Shogun no Katana among others - so we also really want to play those very soon! Let’s hope we find the time. 🤞
