The Apocalypse is here

The Apocalypse is at hand with demons appearing everywhere. 👹 It is up to a few gods and demigods to stand tall and fight, and seal away the evil with the help of their followers. The final hours are counting down.
This is the theme of 🏇 Four Horsemen, a crisis-management co-op game for 1-4 players. Players can pick a character from different Pantheons to play as - Judeo-Christian or Greek in the core game, but there are Norse, Egyptian and Chinese expansions to add even more variety.
The core of the game is resource- and hand management, with deck-building. Each round events wreak havoc, spawning demons on the different continents, moving the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse and making you spend your follower cubes. Things kind of keep getting worse and worse until the final hour - you have to finish the binding ritual and the requirement of the bad guy you are playing against, or the world ends. 😱
After the events you get to act: 🧐 From your hand of cards (aka. Relics) you can play 4 to your different slots. Each card shows 3 columns with different effects. Two cards will activate their “Boon” effect, the third its “Use” effect, and the fourth its “Sacrifice” effect. Sacrifice is the strongest, but you also lose the card forever - ☝️ luckily, every round you get to buy new cards for your deck. Effects let you defeat demons, move back the Horsemen, or give you resources (aka. Followers).
You also have divine powers to use specific to your chosen character. These can be used as much as you want, but they can be costly, especially as some abilities increase your corruption. Lose too much health and/or gain too much corruption and you become Fallen. ☠️
Four Horsemen is a constant struggle - in the fun difficult co-op way. I think you definitely lose more than you win, which is good! 👍 Add some fitting background music, and you will really feel like the end of the world is coming. 😄 It might seem a bit mechanical with loads of cube pushing at first, but actually it is a very engaging experience. So engaging, we played 5 times back to back, which is a lot given the average length of 90+ minutes! Definitely stay tuned for more!
