Spiel 23 preview

SPIEL 23 is starting next week finally!!! 😁 There are still so many games to talk about!
Your shopping lists are probably already long, so I’ve decided to showcase some upcoming smaller box games that caught our attention, that maybe fit into that last remaining nook in your suitcase. 😅

🦸 Heroes for Sale

This is a 2p duel game that has auction and bidding as its primary game mechanic! That’s great, because multiplayer auction games usually don’t work that well 2p.
You bid for heroes to attack the opponents base, however they could overbid you at any time so those heroes turn your back on you. It sounds like a blast. 😄

🕰️ Time Division

Another 2p duel game, with an amazing short description on BGG: “Just 6 turns, just 1 card each turn, just 1 decision, but no 2 games are ever alike.” And the longer description sounds awesome too. 👍 Basically it’s an I-split-you-choose type thing where a player will decide which player’s card activates its ability, and which goes into their owner's Influence Area. Sounds like crunchy decisions await at every turn. 🤩

🧭 Faraway

A filler game with amazing artwork! As you explore an ever changing continent, you will play a line of 8 cards as your tableau. An interesting twist is that at the end you walk back the way you came, scoring cards from back-to-front, making decisions even more interesting. With simultaneous action selection games should be quite quick. 😉

🥷 Infiltraitors

A co-op card game, perhaps more akin to The Crew. Players have to manage their hand of cards and use them to give clues on suspect cards, so you can deduce what suit and number the set aside suspects have. There are 20 missions with some story connecting them. I am very intrigued to give this a go! 😊
