Spiel 2024 preview 4

Let’s do another batch of games, this time highlighting some family-weight titles that we have all played recently - and which are all available at Spiel'24 ! 😉

🦀 Seaside (aka. Littoral) - Randolph Games at Booth 6F300

This is one of our biggest discovery this year! It’s basically just a bag with a bunch of wooden tokens - but those wooden tokens make an amazing game! It is lightning fast to play (just mix the tokens in the bag and start), and although there is certainly some luck to draws, it has enough strategy too. Try it! 🐧 High Rise Penguins - Alley Cat at Booth 3N311

A tiny package of limitless cuteness. Kind of a mix between Uno and a dexterity game, you have to play your little circular cards and do what they tell you - either building the rickety structure of cardboard-iceberg higher or putting adorable penguin meeples or crystals into the rooms. The tiniest mistake can make it all crumble. Read more about it here.

🐈 Kyoto No Neko - Matagot at Booth 3F111

What could be cuter than penguins? Cats of course! 😸 This one is a fun lighthearted game of cat-ventures. Stroll around the city, discovering tokens and rolling dice to make skill tests to overcome all kinds of challenges, and race for missions to gather 5 bells as quickly as possible. Read more about it here.

🐐 Dance of Ibexes - Playte Games at Booth 5H410

This is just like ‘6 Nimmt’ or ‘Take 5’, but with some additions and awesome chunky wooden tiles instead of cards. Gameplay is quick as you just pick a number to play each turn, but trying to guess what others will play make it more strategic - and funny due to all the potiential bluffs. And all this in a cool magnetic box that becomes the game board! Read more about it here.
