Spiel 2023 - The loot!

Behold… Our #SPIEL23 Essen haul!
We tend to overdo it every year, and this year is no different. 🙉
An important disclaimer: some of these are review copies. Still, we got a bunch of things, as I was researching upcoming games for the last few months, which wet my appetite quite a lot.
And as trying games and buying them if you like them doesn't tend to work (because there just isn’t enough time in the convention and games get sold out quickly), we like to bring most of the promising games home. Being able to drive to Essen is a double-edged sword: You can fit many games into a car, so it also enables irresponsible shopping sprees. 😶

But we also sold a bunch of games! I posted some stuff on the BGG no-shipping auction thread, and we were able to sell 22 games. 💪

We are finally moving into a new home next week, then we probably have to do some deep cleaning and painting in the old one, so most of the big games will have to go on the back burner unfortunately. But we have a lot of super interesting smaller, quicker games, so we will start covering those! 🙃 I canˋt wait to get to the big box stuff too though!

SPIEL23 was amazing, I think our favorite so far (only our third time actually).
We met many people and publishers and checked out tons of games. Even though I feel a bit melancholic that it's over, I also feel revitalized.
Board gaming is such a great and amazing hobby, and SPIEL is one of the best ways to celebrate it. 🥰 Time to look for a hotel for SPIEL24! 😁
