Sci-fi dice drafting

Sci-fi dice drafting

We just played Pulsar 2849 πŸš€ for the first (and second) time. It was sitting on our wishlist for some time now, and we were like "why didn't we buy it yet?". πŸ€” This one is an absolute hit, although I think not often mentioned. πŸ”₯πŸ‘

It's nice finally playing a tight brain-busting euro that doesn't involve building cathedrals and herding cattle. 🀣

Each turn dice are rolled which are then drafted in turn order. You might need different values, but generally big values are nice. However taking big dice has you decreasing your standing on the initiative or engineering track, which means taking the lower dice might be more advantageous. 🎲

You have a lot do with your dice, much more than what you can actually do. This makes the game very tight, and has you making difficult choices all the time. I think it also makes the replayability that much better, which is already very high. You have multiple end game goal tiles, technology boards, HQ boards, two-sided gameboard and many randomly seeded tiles and of course multiple ways to victory.

The game might look daunting when checking pictures, but after the first play it is definitely not more complex than other euros. I think although having a respectable ranking on BGG this game is flying under the radar. It is absolutely fun and we recommend it to any euro-enthusiast. 😊
