Why is everyone suspicious?

We bought Awkward Guests at SPIEL21, even though it is a game from 2016. Somehow we never heard of it before, but it has quickly become a favorite. 🤩

You could say Awkward Guests is like Cluedo on steroids, but I think that’s selling it short.
Awkward Guests has a brilliant deck system, with which you are able to create 3600 different murder cases to solve. 🤯 You either use the back of the rulebook or an app that tells you which numbered cards you have to shuffle together.

You have to find out who killed Mister Walton, with what weapon and what was their motive for it. Also if they had an accomplice and – if so - what their motive was.

You start with 6 cards and can discard some and draw back up to 6 cards every round of the game. There are different clues on each card. It could be about 1 of the 10 rooms of the manor, or about 1 of the 6 suspects. You are also exchanging cards with others during the game (there is a value on each card so you know you are trading about equal values). You try to keep crucial looking information to yourself, but you never know, sometimes the cards which are uninteresting to you are the missing piece for the other player 🙃 It adds a very interesting dynamic to the game.

The best part is that you are not just crossing out stuff until only the solution remains but if you traded information carefully and use logic and deduction you can solve the case before the others. It makes you feel like a detective. 🤔🕵️‍♀️
