Plan your visit to Japan!

Do you like planning your vacation?
It is of course an exciting and fun thing to do, but it can also be stressful and difficult, as there are so many parameters to look out for. šŸŽŒLetā€™s go to JapanšŸŽŒ takes this bittersweet task and turns it into a game - you have to plan how you will spend your 6 days in Japan! Itā€™s a really fun and unique concept! šŸ¤©

In each round you will draft cards until your week is planned in full. You play cards into one of the day-columns below your player board, then pass the rest of the cards to your neighborā€™s discard pile, where theyā€™ll draw from later on.

There are many things you have to consider each turn:

1ļøāƒ£First of all, every day can have a maximum of 3 cards stacked on each other. The bottom card represents the highlight of that day, which gives you a scoring condition. You want to create an itinerary, so that you trigger the bonuses of this. Only experiences (icons) from before that dayā€™s end count though!
2ļøāƒ£Secondly, you should group activities of the same city together. Just like in real life, you donā€™t want to spend your vacation on the train traveling between cities. So ideally you will bundle your Kyoto and Tokyo plans together to avoid losing points.
3ļøāƒ£Each day also has a favorable experience: you want to assign cards of the matching type, in order to trigger additional bonuses.

When you have planned out your whole vacation, itā€™s time to score it! You each go through your week from Monday to Saturday, triggering the icons (experiences), moving 5 different experience trackers and mood tokens and collecting victory points for everything.

šŸ—ÆļøLetā€™s go to Japan hits a sweet spot of thinky decisions, accessibility and simple lightning fast turns. The game also plays simultaneously so you should finish games fast even with 4p.
Youā€™ll have to get the most out of the cards you are given (with options for mitigating randomness) and you have to optimize your tableau turn by turn as you canā€™t move already played cards around. The parameters before you keep changing, so you donā€™t need to dive into analysis paralysis. Itā€™s perfect for casual game nights!šŸ„°
