More about Mind MGMT

We have already wrote about how brilliant 🧠 Mind MGMT is. A hidden movement game in which Rogue Agents try to take down the evil Recruiter as he is searching for new recruits for his nefarious organization.

The theme is actually really fun and there are so many little easter eggs and puns hidden. 🥰 But what if I told you this might not just be the best hidden movement game out there, but also one that is playable solo or in co-op? Well do we have a surprise for you! It’s totally possible! 🥳

Let’s talk about the elephant in the room. The solo/co-op mode requires an app to play - which is the only way to enable these playstyles, as Mind MGMT needs quite complex and abstract thinking. You could never simulate this with a deck of cards. But it’s still important to know, because you have to enter every movement and action in the app so the AI knows how to react. So that’s a bit of screen time, but as we brainstorm where the evil Recruiter AI could be, and plan our course of action each turn we still interact a lot with the physical game board and components, so in the end I think the app is perfectly acceptable for these modes of play.

We enjoyed our recent plays so much, this might be our favorite logical deduction game now. It’s so cool how you cluelessly start out, then find a few traces of the Recruiter, but not sure when he was there. Then you find out when he was there but you are not sure of the direction he was going. 🤯😄

However when you think you are getting close there are two major things that can confuse your search. First are the two temple spaces. Even though normally the Recruiter can only walk orthogonally, he can enter and leave temples diagonally. The second is the mind-slip ability, which he can use to jump a larger distance. You know when he uses it but you are never sure which of the possible mind slip abilities he started with, so it really jumbles up your calculations.

I really like how we can brainstorm together in co-op, instead of sitting in silence against each other. Mind MGMT can require real brainpower to solve.
