Making a living in Eldris is not easy

π° Thieves of Eldris is the third and final game of the Twisted Realms series. After the tug-of-war and trick-taking game, this one is about hidden movement, deduction and bluffing. π Players are simple pickpockets on a bustling square of a fantasy city, trying to make a (dishonest) living by stealing a coin here and there. π The game can be played by 1-6 players, and you will also try to find out who the others thieves are to steal some money from them as well. The goal is simple: Be the first to have 8 or more coins! π
The game has 2 decks of cards π, both depicting 24 fantasy characters. One of the decks is splayed out as a 6x4 grid - this is the square where players are maneuvering around. The other deck is for drawing your identities and targets. Everyone draws a card that determines their Cutpurse and their 2 Targets. Then the robbing can begin! π πΈ
Each turn the active player rolls 3 custom dice π², then they get to move 3 characters sharing the symbol on the dice. Movement means swapping two orthogonally adjacent cards. π§ You want to maneuver yourself to your targets (or them to you) until you are adjacent, so you can show the target card and claim coins - then drawing a new Target. Targets in the corners or the edges are worth more points, but are also more dangerous, as it is easier to deduce who the Cutpurse is. βοΈ If you roll doubles or triples with the dice, you also get to activate a special ability depending on the symbol.
If you think you know who a rival Cutpurse is and you are standing next to them, you can try to Reveal them. π΅οΈ If you are correct you steal a coin from them and get additional money from the supply. The opponent then gets to choose a new Cutpurse and continue playing - and now they might have a good idea who you are. π± By the way, characters stolen from are turned face down, as they have left the square - however their empty cards can still be moved. Thus, there are less and less characters present, making it easier to deduce Cutpurse identities!
Definitely check out the campaign on Kickstarter!
