Logical deduction for families?
⚗️Little Alchemists is a family friendly version of Alchemists. The main difference, aside from the reduced complexity, is the absence of worker-placement mechanics and euro-flair. What remains is the central logical deduction puzzle, which will still feel familiar if you've played the original! 😊
Each turn you can mix together 2 ingredients and see what type of potion 🧪 they make. To do this you use a mobile app 📱 to scan your tiles. We usually avoid apps in our games, but we came to accept that in logical deduction games they are often a must. This one works well and is hassle-free. As you play and mix more and more things together, you will start to understand their properties and be able to deduce things more. 😉
When you open up the box and start to play you will have a really simple kid-friendly game. However, the big box also holds 7 tuckboxes that you can unlock as you play, adding new elements, rules and overall complexity. 🧐 Depending on how well you did, you earn key 🗝️ stickers you can put on the next box - if every lock is stickered you can scan it and open up new parts of the rulebook.
The way the game ends and how you score keeps changing according to which “version” of the game you are playing, but I don’t want to spoil the joy of discovery for you. 🤫 Suffice to say, you will add a bunch of smaller and bigger things! By the time you've unlocked everything, the complexity will have grown to a level that’s absolutely enjoyable for adults too!
💬 We had a blast exploring all the content as we progressed through the different levels! 🙃 CGE did a fantastic job making Little Alchemists accessible for the whole family. It starts off easy, and you can adjust the difficulty to find the perfect balance for kids or beginners. Playing the full game is still less complex than our logical deduction staples, but it’s a lot of fun nonetheless, and much quicker as well. All in all, it’s a wonderful introduction to deduction games! 🥰
