June recap
It’s recap time! June is over, and it went surprisingly quick! It started with the UKGE, which was an awesome experience and it also greatly boosted our gaming endeavours. 🥰 Many of our highlighted games are actually from UKGE, as they left such good impressions!
🎩 Hegemony
This is probably a top 3 game of the month, even though it didn’t perform 100% in our 2p games. Playing without automas felt like something was missing, and with automas it’s a bit clunky - but I still have this feeling that the game is brilliant, and it’s one of the most thematic euros out there (even if I’m not into politics). 👌
🎎 Shogun no Katana
This is a cool worker-placement game, holding a very unique sliding puzzle mechanic used for crafting katanas. And it looks amazing on the table!
🪲 Ankh: Gods of Egypt
A new favorite of ours perhaps. A super cool area control game with some of the best minis in gaming! I really want to play this now, and paint it, and buy more stuff for it! 😄
🗿 Ancient Knowledge
An awesome upcoming tableau builder card game, where you keep losing cards to your Past pile as time goes on, so you have to keep re-adjusting your tableau. Can’t wait to get my hands on a final copy! 🛍️
🏘️ Kutná Hora
After a full playthrough I want to play this more. A strong euro with interesting action selection and a bunch of player interaction. Even though on pictures it looks all black and white, it is surprisingly beautiful up close! 😊
👑 The Old King’s Crown
Even though we just had a small demo taste of this game, it really got us excited to see the game in its final form. It shows great promise and looks breathtakingly good. 🤩 We really want to play some full games!
✈️ Undaunted: Battle of Britain
After checking what the fuss is about with the Undaunted series, we are now definitely looking to add at least one title to our collection. 😁 A fun tactical deck-builder war game.
⚔️ Vaalbara
Our expectations weren’t high, but we wanted to see what this game offers. We actually came away really impressed: you basically get a Libertalia experience, but in a small box with almost no set up needed. ✌️
