How to be a cat lady

In Cat Lady you try collect the most cats by drafting cards - while also supplying them with enough food, toys, costumes and catnip.

The unique idea of Cat Lady is its drafting system. Cards are in a 3x3 row and during your turn you have to pick a column or a row, then collect all 3 cards from it. This way the game remains fast-playing and fairly simple, yet it makes decisions harder to make.

You try to get a lot of cats for points but there is a caveat – you need to be able to feed them at the end of the game, or else they give you minus points. So you will gather a lot of food too – but if you have the most leftover food, that also gets you a penalty. And of course you need to get cat toys for set collection and costumes for a majority scoring. So you see, you need a lot of things but can only get so many things until the deck runs out. 🙀 Stray cats also have unique scoring conditions that could change your strategy.

Cat Lady is a great little game that is perfect for short sessions. I think the drafting system is a clever idea and I love the cute quirky art on the cards. 😻😸
