Hiking and nature in board game form

Do you want to go hiking in nature but the scorching heat is holding you back? ☀️🌡 Well, Meadow has got your back. 😅 You can invoke nature right in the comfort of your home! We were hyped to try Meadow after seeing many posts about it on our feed - Prime Day had a nice discount so we went for it. 😁

The game is all about drafting cards and trying to build the highest scoring tableau with these cards by the end of the game. It is a light, quick and relaxing game, yet it does involve a lot of thinking, planning and making hard decisions. 🕵‍♂️

Getting cards you want is not always easy. You use your action tokens to draft cards from a grid, but you can only take them from certain spaces. As spots fill up around the grid you have less and less options to get what you want. 🤔

Playing cards to your tableau can be difficult too. Every card requires you to have certain symbols in play, and the new card will also cover up existing symbols depending on where you placed it - so you always have to be careful and smart. ☝️ You can discard 2 cards to pay for one missing symbol anytime, but that is quite costly, as you can never draw more than one card in a turn!

Your action tokens are not only for getting new cards - they have special abilities too as an alternative use. These can be very helpful but if you use them you cannot play cards that turn.

We did find with 2p that sometimes the card grid was moving a bit slowly and it could be hard to find certain symbols that you desperately needed. The grid does get refreshed after the 3rd round though (out of 6 rounds), which helps with this. 👍

We liked our first play very much and are excited for more. 😊
