Here to slay

In Here to Slay you play as a Party Leader trying to assemble a team of heroes and defeat monsters - A team made up of cute animals of course! Bunny Mages 🐰✨, Cat Thieves 🐱🗡, Squirrel Bards 🐿🪕 and many more. 😍

The games has loads of ’Take-That’ – a mechanic which I really hate 😅. But here I can forgive it because of the amazing art and the theme of building a classic D&D adventuring party.

Here to Slay is a race to either hunt down 3 monsters first or to have a team made up of 6 different classes (7 with expansions).

The game has an action point system – on your turn you will draw and play cards, activate your heroes – all of which have different abilities – and try to slay monsters. Slain monsters give you ongoing abilities too. And of course you will all be trying to stop each other from winning.

You have to play with the right mindset. With the random dice rolls on top of the random card draw you might struggle to even have a chance at winning sometimes. Also if people gang up on you because you keep winning, that can also easily make your mood sour. 😂 It’s best to play a bunch of games back-to-back so the randomness balances itself out. 😅

But it’s hard to be mad with all the ultra-cute animal heroes, illustrations and the many funny gags and references. 🙃
