Happy 2024!

Happy 2024!

Happy New Year! šŸ„³šŸŽ‰

I hope you enjoyed the holidays and had a great start into 2024! ā˜ŗ ļø Are you doing New Year's resolutions? I personally donā€™t really care for them outside of the board gaming world, but since itā€™s a very nice thing to look back on the stats of the last year, I always set some ā€œchallengesā€ in the app where I track our plays and games. šŸ˜ Well, I donā€™t consider them ā€œNew Year's resolutionsā€ because playing should be fun and not another ā€œchoreā€ or score to achieve.

In 2023 a lot was going on, including moving to a new house which definitely ate up a lot of our time (well not the move itself, but you know, shaping it more and more to what we imagine as a home), thus it felt like we didnā€™t have the time to play that much.
Actually, that wasnā€™t true at all. We almost played as many games as in 2022 šŸ˜¶ so Iā€™ll have to find another excuse šŸ˜œ

Anywayā€¦ the goals we set last year were:
ā€¦ to play at least 365 times āœ…
ā€¦ to play at least 100 new games āœ… (we actually overshot this by playing 167 new-to-us games from 208 total)
ā€¦ an alphabet challenge āŒ (we were short on a game with Q and X - good recommendations are welcome)
ā€¦ to (very vaguely) decrease the Pile of Shame āŒ (which we utterly failed šŸ˜‚)

So as I always do, I set up the new challenges today, which are very similar to the ones above, except that this time there is a specific challenge for playing our (as of today) unplayed games.
šŸ‘‰I also added a goal to replay at least one of our ā€œoldā€ favorites each week, because the only ā€œremorseā€ I have regarding last year is that between all those new and shiny games some really good games didnā€™t make it to the table. This has to change!
