Half year recap

Our performance in June wasn’t the best so instead of a monthly recap we decided to do a half-year recap for 2022.😘 Here are some of the games new to us that stood out the most and earned a space on our forever-shelf - in no particular order:
🛸 Defence of Procyon III:
This game is amazing. It’s a wargame-euro hybrid in which each player uses completely different game mechanics to interact with the game. The aliens and humans fight in two theatres of war - in space and on the planet. With 2p you have to learn and play 2 of the factions, so it is easily the most complex game we own.

🏜 Dune Imperium:
Dune reached the 15th place on BBG for a reason. It was a definite hit for us too. Worker placement intertwined with deck-building, an awesome euro. It works perfectly with 2p too thanks to an effortless dummy player that takes turns in seconds, and keeps the area-control element interesting.

🦕 Perseverance:
Mindclash Games never disappoints - this was an absolute hit too. You basically get 2 games in 1 box with some basic similarities (dice drafting and dice placement) but a lot of different things as well. Perseverance feels really thematic, much more than most euro games we own and we love it for it.

🌏 Planet Unknown:
This was a wildcard for us and we kept our expectations low. Yet when it arrived we were amazed how good it is. Tile-placement with a lot of spice that adds a lot to the game yet doesn’t slow it down.

🪐 Search for Planet X:
We love logical deduction games - one of our favorites is Awkward Guests. This brings a similar experience. You are searching space with your telescopes and submitting scientific theories, trying to find the coveted Planet X first. An app is needed to play but it is well implemented.

🌌 Pulsar 2849:
A somewhat older title from Vladimir Suchy. We expected it to be good but it was even better. Dice drafting and a ton of decisions every turn. The sci-fi theme is always a plus for us:

⚔️ Tiny Epic Dungeons:
We are always in search for good co-op games. We like dungeon crawlers too. This small box game packs a bigger bunch than most other similar games. A well thought out and fun crawler that makes you think and plays fast.
