Games on the radar - UKGE edition

UK Games Expo is beginning in 2 days! 😮 I can't wait to finally get on the plane to Brimingham! There will be much to see, and much to try out, so let's talk about some intriguing games while the final countdown to UKGE is running. 🥰

🗡️ Avalon: The Riven Veil

The next game from the makers of Oathsworn, which is very highly regarded 😯 Avalon won't be a story campaign game though, it looks to be an area control game in an Arthurian legend setting, with exploration, legendary items, mythical beasts and as I can see from pictures: lots of minis. The cover image is very exciting! 😁

🏰 Muster: Raise the Banners

I do love a good 2p tug-of-war game, and Muster looks like a fun one! 😊 Over the game you will be playing cards of different colors and strength values to 5 castles, trying to control a majority of them at the end by having cards with more value on your side. The art of the cards is phenomenal!

⛵️ Yonder

We really enjoy Moon from Sinister Fish, as it's basically a superior 7 Wonders. Yonder will be different, as it boasts worker placement with asymmetric workers and engine building. It’s set in a fantasy world, as ships carrying elves, dwarves, ogres, goblins and skeletons arrive to the a world. We'll have to check it out! 🙃

⚱️ Altay: Dawn of Civilization

A deck-building civilization game by Paolo Mori and Ole Steiness. We’ll be taking a sneak peek at this, and I'm curious how this all will be implemented. Slightly asymmetric factions and territorial expansion that affects card play. And the illustrations are very cool!
