Fulfilling commissions, one carpet at a time

In 🌙 Tabriz - an upcoming game of Randy Flynn (designer of Cascadia) - you are a craftsman trying to fulfill commissions of commoners, nobles and royals by gathering resources to weave luxurious carpets 🧵.

Tabriz has such a beautiful and inviting box cover, that we really wanted to check it out at Gen Con. 🥰 Luckily we managed to get into a short demo game.

The game is all about resource management and conversion, and contract fulfilment. What makes the game special is how you get these resources. 🧐 On your turn you can move one of your 3 assistants, but only a limited amount of spaces. This means you have to plan the routes of your assistants well.

Locations either give you resources for money or allow you to trade resources for other types. Some locations have you rolling dice which show resources you have to buy - kind of like gambling. 🎰
Available resources on the board are quite limited though, only refilling at the end of the round - so be quick! 🏃

At the end of your turn you can fulfill one contract by paying the required resources back to the supply. This is the primary way to get money, but it also might give you victory points or increase your skill track, unlocking bonuses. 🤔

As you can see this is quite a light game, similar to Century but with an added meeple-moving mechanic. For us it might be too simple, but it seems like it could be an awesome gateway game. 🙃
