Ever dreamed of opening your own restaurant?

Today we got Kitchen Rush off of our Pile of Shame. 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳 We were feeling kind of tired and ready for an early sleep as it is a Monday evening after all 😅, so we decided to inject some adrenaline into our system with a real-time board game again.

In Kitchen Rush you manage a restaurant. 🍽 It is basically a co-operative worker placement game, where your two workers are hourglasses. When you place an hourglass you get to do the given action immediately but have to wait before you can use that hourglass again - until all the sand falls down. ⌛️

You have to welcome new guests, get their orders, grab ingredients for the orders from different storerooms, grab spices from your garden, go shopping if things are running low, cook the foods and also wash dirty dishes. And you do all of this simultaneously in 4 minutes per work shift. There are a lot of things to watch out for and you have to try not to bother each other too much.

The game introduces things very nicely, with each mission adding new game mechanics. 🧩 That also means the first few tries are not too exciting, but also that you could start playing with anyone. As the game gets more complex, things start getting a lot more hectic.
