Resistance fighting in the Netherlands

In 1943, the Netherlands was occupied by German forces. While most of the population was too afraid to resist, some fierce people decided to fight back. ✊ In ‘Dutch Resistance: Orange Shall Overcome’, you slip into the shoes of these brave resistance fighters, trying to oppose the occupiers. Not in a violent way, but rather sabotaging their plans in all kinds of ways. In the game you will be playing 1 of 5 scenarios cooperatively, with each one having a unique setup, a specific goal to achieve, and special rules and actions.

In usual co-op game fashion there are multiple ways to lose the game, but only one way to win. If you cannot complete the scenario goal in time, lose all your morale, or a single player reaches 0 alibi, it’s over! ☠️

The game is split up into day ☀️ phases where every player gets to spend action points to do actions, and night 🌙 phases, when bad things happen. To achieve the objective you will need to move around the different locations of the map, collecting resources, transporting them, and using them in specific ways. Depending on the scenario you might have to escort people or take special items with you. All of this is made especially hard by the German policemen and soldiers. 🚧

This is where the theme of the game really comes alive. ☝️As you move through roads with occupiers, you will have to draw a Halt! card, which all have a story snippet and a decision to make. As you spend your nights at locations, their safety rating will go down. If your alibi is low or you are carrying many things, the safety will decrease at a faster rate. Whenever a location is out of safety, a Raid will occur. 😬 Also, the occupying forces will patrol around the board, as instructed by Patrol cards, making everything more interesting and dynamic.

💬 We enjoyed our plays so far, the scenarios are interesting and challenging and there is a lot to juggle! It is not a short game though…😅

‘Dutch Resistance: Orange Shall Overcome’ has been out for some time now, but today a new Kickstarter will be launching to release additional content for it. 😮 I am curious to see what scenarios and other things are coming!
