Du you love escape rooms?

We are big fans of escape rooms, be it real-life or board game version. 😍
We played a ton of the boxed escape games on the market and one of our favorites is the ’Unlock!’ series. We just got the newest box „Legendary Adventures” and jumped right into it! 💪

In the Unlock! games you need to use a mobile app to play. 📱 I am normally not a fan of app-integration in board games, but they usually make pretty clever use of it here – finger gestures, microphone, gyroscope, volume control, or any other feature could be needed for some of the puzzles, and it’s always fun figuring it out.

Every case is made of 60 cards. One of the main mechanics is combining red and blue cards, adding their numbers together to find new cards to get from the deck – careful though, you get penalties for wrong guesses so you cannot brute force solutions. Or sometimes you might find hidden numbers in the art which could lead you to your next clue. Some cards point you to the app for some clever minigames. 🤔

We played all of the Unlock! games so far and they are always a blast. 😁 There are many innovative puzzles and they always manage to think of something new. One of the best features of Unlock! is that you don’t have to destroy any components – unlike many other escape games. You just play through, then put the deck of cards back in its place. 👍
