DIY insert for Wondrous Creatures

Happy Easter Sunday everyone! 🐰
It’s time for the next issue of our (totally irregular) Sunday Showcase series where we share glimpses into our board game-adjacent hobbies - usually some kind of a DIY project 🙂!
Lately, Kristóf has been hard at work designing and 3D printing inserts for some of our favorite games that really needed—and deserved—some extra love. One of those games is Wondrous Creatures from @badcometgames. After receiving the base game for review, we absolutely fell in love with it and couldn’t resist ordering the remaining expansions. And of course, with all that content, an organizer became a must. 🙂
While I only provided moral support for this project, I think it turned out awesome—so I figured, why not share it here?
We’ve really grown to love 3D-printed inserts lately. They’re sturdy, lightweight, more flexible in shape than wooden inserts, and take up less space than foam core solutions. There are tons of downloadable designs out there—many of them free—with some seriously intricate and clever layouts! In this case, we decided to create our own version that streamlines setup and teardown. The goal was to keep it simple and functional, while also minimizing material costs, print time, and avoiding unnecessary over-engineering.
