Disturbing puzzles?

Do you like escape and detective games? 🕵️ If so, you might want to take a look at the upcoming Kickstarter of Escape Dysturbia ! We had the opportunity to try 3 of their games which already exist in German, and are now coming in English as well! ☺️

They all put a focus on storytelling and immersion. Every game is set in Dysturbia, a dark and desolate city dripping with unsolved mysteries. The Syndicate, a nefarious organization has taken over and tries to control everything. You and your very own detective agency are among the few of those who still try to fight the system!

The games establish a cohesive universe you can always return to, and you will get to know a diverse cast of characters. Between puzzles you will get smaller or bigger snippets of story that are interwoven with the puzzles themselves.

🤔So how is it played? Well, similarly to other escape games the narrative guides you through a series of puzzles. Then you’ll have to use all the creative brainpower you have to solve them. They are of various difficulty levels and if you ever need help, there are hints. Some puzzles build upon each other, using the information from the previous one.

The Dysturbia experience comes in every possible format:

📙 The case of the dead crow
This is a book, the most convenient format for storytelling. Relatively long background story compared to what I’ve seen in this genre!

🗓️ The Weekly Calendar
This is my favorite concept of these 3 games. It comes with 52 puzzles (one for each week in the year). I’ve had similar calendars on my office desk before, but with funny comics. Now I get to solve a part of the overarching mystery each week! 🙂

🎄 The Advent Calendar
This one comes with 24 envelopes. Only the first one is marked clearly, from that one on, finding out which one to open next is part of the puzzle😌They all have different markings or inscriptions on them which will make sense as you go through them one by one.

As a cherry on top: during the campaign they even offer the possibility to personalize your game (e.g. name your detective agency, etc.)
