Day 3 recap

Day 3 recap

Day 3, Saturday has the biggest crowds. We got quite lucky finding some empty tables in a row. ☺️ Let's do another round of highlights!

💐 Garden Nation

This game has really eye-catching plastic components, mesmerizing art and outstanding gameplay!

In short it's an area control game where you build towers with your pieces on colorful patches, trying to match requirements on cards to get them as end game points and also to fulfill your personal objectives.

The map is split into 7 tiles/sectors, and a turtle-crane 🐢 mini shows where you can build. Wherever you build on that tile determines where the turtle moves to. This makes the game really unique and tactical.

📃 Sea Salt & Paper

In this small card game of Bombyx you pick a card each turn. You can either play pairs for points and their special ability, or do set collection with hand cards for points. The twist is that you can announce the end of a round - either so that everyone scores their current cards or you can take some risk and bet you will beat them for some extra points. You play until somebody reaches 40 points.

🚀 Light Speed

An epic real-time space battle played in about a minute. You place your 10 spaceship cards one by one on the table simultaneously with your opponent. Cards show lasers in certain directions or shields on some parts. You try to shoot the enemy ships and the central asteroid, while avoiding friendly fire. Also important is the initiative value - some ships might explode before they even shoot! The fun twist is an app that can do the evaluation of the fight with awesome animations.

🏴‍☠️ Turning Tides

A 2-player pirate ship battle game! You draw cards you can play with the goal of sinking the enemy before they sink you. The two ships move each turn beside each other. You can push crew off the ship and fire cannons at the the right time to remove enemy pieces or damage the hull. Mind games!

🌵 Ouch

A simple set collection family card game. You announce from which side you are picking a card - then you flip it, and the art tells you if you got pricked or not. The more flowers, the more sides with thorns!
