Cyberpunk deduction

We have quite an intriguing game for today: 💼 Classified Information is a tiny duelling card game of deduction. While it comes in a relatively big box, I say it’s tiny because a deck to play consists of only 18 cards (though there are 4 decks so you can switch things up). The game combines 2 things we really love in a fun way: Logical deduction and multi-use cards! 😁
Gameplay seems simple at first glance: You hold 2 cards in your hand, draw a 3rd one on your turn, then play 1 card. Repeat this until the deck runs out and you only have a single card left, and you can check who wins. In reality it’s more complex than this, and even though rounds can go by fast, gameplay is methodical and some turns need much consideration. 😉
To understand what you are doing and why, let’s talk about the cards first. 🧐 Cards all have a number (let’s say 5), and a “code”, consisting of the 2 neighbouring numbers (4,5,6). One card will be randomly chosen for each player as their “suitcase”, and your main goal is to correctly guess at least 1 digit of the opponent’s suitcase AND have a card that matches one of the digits at the end of the game.
As you play you make notes 📝 of the cards that have been played, so you know which cards cannot be the suitcase. Additionally, cards have a wide array of effects that help you collect more information. As you get more intel, the deck also starts running out, which makes things pretty hard.
You always have multiple possible plays - which of your 3 cards do you play and how, and which do keep for later? I mentioned multi-use cards too: You can discard cards facedown to “encrypt” them, essentially hiding information from your opponent, or use them for their Guild affiliation: as Guards 🛡️ that protect a specific number of your code, or as Assassins 🗡️ to get rid of Guards. Guards could stop you from winning, but if you successfully assassinate them, they also give you valuable information.
This is one of your games where your first game will be a real struggle, so you need a few plays to get the hang of it. After a few tries it all opens up nicely though, and thanks to the multiple decks there is a great variety to enjoy! ☺️
