Cooperative deck-building

🌱Ecosfera: Rewilding the World🌱 is a cooperative deck-building game about restoring fauna, flora, and their biomes before it is too late. It is a fairly simple and charming game, but it’s not easy - winning requires teamwork!
Keep in mind, what you see here is a prototype copy that uses lots of placeholder art.
The cards that do have an artwork look delightful! 😊
Players always draw 4 cards at the end of their turn - this important so you can plan together for the following turns. There are a few cards types:
⌛Elements - these are the currency used to buy 🌿Plant cards.
🌿Plants - you can buy an 🐾Animal card with a pair of these if the symbols match.
🐾Animals - you can buy 🏔️Biome tiles with a pair of these if the symbols match.
🌪️Disasters - these cards just serve to clog up your hand. What’s even worse, if you have 3 of them on a turn, you get an Extinction tile - If you get the 7th Extinction tile, you lose! 🙀
On the other hand, getting all 7 Biome tiles wins you the game! 🏆 This gets harder as the game goes on, because many of your cards or their symbols won’t be of much use anymore.
What cards you draw from your deck is pretty random, so to help battle this, you have some abilities at your disposal. 💪
There are 3 actions tokens you can use, plus some of the cards also depict these abilities. With them you can draw additional cards, pass a card to your partners or refresh the cards in the display. This is where teamplay comes into play. Often you will draw sub-optimal cards for your next turn, or you just have 1 plant or animal cards without a pair. Passing cards in these cases is an essential tool.
💭The flow of the game is pleasant and smooth, but as your deck grows you start losing a bit of agency, even though you have the aforementioned abilities . Especially the last 1-2 Biome tiles are hard to get as you also start needing some luck of the draw.
This is why I hope we can see some more ability types in the final version. 🙃
Otherwise Ecosfera is fun and offers multiple complexity levels. We are always happy to see co-op deck building games. 😊

A prototype of this game was kindly shared by the publisher for us to try out. Just a heads-up: all the components are prototypes, so things might look or play a bit differently in the final version. For more details, check out our content policy.
