Bounty Hounting for the whole family

🛸 Star Wars: Bounty Hunters is a light-weight card game with virtually no down-time, in which you and your fellow players compete to be the most renowned bounty hunters in the galaxy. 😏This ambitious goal has you capturing targets, completing contracts and hustling with the Jawas for droids and valuable crates.

The game is simple and can be learned in only a few minutes. 🧐 The primary mechanism is card drafting: each turn you’ll draw a card from 1 of 4 decks to your hand, choose one to play to your tableau (or sell), then you pass your whole hand to your neighbor. This all happens simultaneously, so the down time is minimal! ⏱️

Cards are sorted into 4 different decks:
🎯 Targets are prominent characters from the Star Wars universe with a a score value and 3 defense values each (blue, red and green)
🗡️ Bounty hunters are there to help you capture your target, but employing them gives you minus points as a penalty. They have attack values that you try to match up with the target’s defense. One bounty hunter is rarely enough, so you’ll have to chain them together to capture someone with a higher defense value.
🤖 Droids and crates come from the Jawa deck -  droids are for capturing targets - similar to bounty hunters but for a credit cost and without giving you a penalty. Crates can give you points and may contribute to contracts.
🧾 Contracts give you bonus points for sets of specific targets at the end of the game.

Once somebody captures their 4th target, the game’s end is triggered and after 2 more rounds you tally up your points from captured targets, bounty hunters, contracts and crates. 🏆

💬 The main puzzle of the game is when to draft what card and maintain a balance while keeping an eye on what others are doing. All in all, it is a very simple game and might be a bit too simple and random for our taste. You can strategize by choosing from which deck you draw, yet the luck factor is high. I imagine it is more fun with kids, as a quick-playing family game. The illustrations on the cards are stellar!
