Berlin Con Recap

Berlin Con Recap

To continue yesterdays post about games we played at Berlin Brettspiel Con , here are some thoughts on 4 more titles we've played complete games of ๐Ÿ™ƒ - in no particular order:

๐Ÿ’ Duel for Middle-Earth

One of the big hype games. ๐Ÿ˜ It's basically 7 Wonders Duel but with Middle-Earth. The DNA is definitely there, but there are some fun tweaks and alternate win conditions - like the hunt for the ring, area control on a map, and collecting symbols for alliances. With the Vincent Dutrait art and some nice changes, I think we'll like this even more than 7W: Duel. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

๐Ÿ Honey Buzz

An exquisite looking game with awesome components. I was really interested in this. Even though it has some wonderful mechanics, like building your hive with tiles to activate action chains, unfortunately it's all heavily focused on contract fulfilment which can get bland for me. So ultimately it just wasn't fun to play. ๐Ÿ™

๐Ÿฆ Harmonies

One of the biggest crowd favorite games lately, and understandably so. The art is mesmerizingly beautiful ๐Ÿคฉ and gameplay is quick and simple. Placing stones on your limited space to both match their scoring criteria and that of your drafted animal cards. Even though I am not a fan of pattern matching games, I had fun playing this one!

โš”๏ธ Unmatched: Cobble & Fog

We finally played Unmatched! It was Dracula vs Sherlock Holmes. ๐Ÿคœ๐Ÿค› I can definitely see the appeal, though Iโ€™d love to play some more games to see how strategic things can get. I found myself running out of cards every time and not being able to do much. We will probably rent this somewhere again later to dive deeper.
