April recap

It’s the last day of April, so it’s time for the monthly gaming recap!
We’ve been visiting family earlier this month, therefore had a bit less gaming than usual. We compensated for this in the last few days since we had a little “vacation” at home and had the chance to learn new games and play some “older” ones :)
All in all we played 14 new-to-us games this month.

These were some of our highlights this month:

⛵ Darwin’s Journey
OK, we posted a bunch about this so it probably doesn’t need much more explanation - it’s just an outstanding game, for me (Kristof) probably game of the year. 😁 We’ll see what other releases might try to take the throne.

💍 War of the Ring: The Card Game
This game has been on our shelf since SPIEL22… We finally played it and became instant fans! It brings the epicness of the original War of The Ring but in a card game format - although it's still a really long game. Stay tuned for our post on it! 🙃

🚀 ISS Vanguard
We also dusted off this epic intergalactic adventure. We played a super difficult scenario, then a somewhat duller one - but it felt good to get back to it and the story is still so much fun to experience. 😍

💰 Clank! Catacombs
Our first foray into the Clank! series. I have to say Catacombs is an amazing game. Pretty light and with not a huge decision space, but it’s such a joy to play. The sense of exploration in each game is awesome. 🥰

♻️ Anachrony
After a long time we played Anachrony again - and tested the Fractures of Time expansion for the first time. It’s amazing, and our painted minis elevate the game even higher. 🤩

🌱 Ginkgopolis
We have recently tried this one, and it quickly won us over with its unique mechanics - so much so that we already bought the expansion for it too. 😅

🏨 Grand Austria Hotel
I don’t need to introduce this game, but we finally got it back to the table yesterday! This time with the expansion modules too. Complexity is raised much higher! 🤯

✍️ Illiterati
Had a blast playing this fun real-time cooperative word game! Exciting without being stressful. Perfect for a cosy game night! 😊
