Ancient and classic abstracts from Africa
We have covered a beautiful collection of games before called 🌏Ludos Asia.
Now there is another project on the horizon made by Krisztina and Tamas from Lemery Games , this time it is 🌍 Ludos Africa - a collection of 4 traditional abstract games, collected from different regions of Africa. Similarly to the other box, you get an exquisite package of beautiful games with little cloth mats and wooden tokens. 🥰
This time we have four 2-player games:
🔸In Yoté you get to strategically move your camels around in Mali
🔸Fanorona lets you control your (somewhat vicious 😅) family of Lemurs in Madagascar
🔸In Dara you’ll visit Nigeria and participate in a face-off between lions 🦁 and elephants 🐘
🔸In Oware from Ghana you’ll get to know the mancala mechanism that is quite popular in modern board games too!
I love this project from them - reviving some ancient traditional games from far away countries, and giving them a breath of new life with gorgeous art and components. This way many people can enjoy these otherwise unknown abstracts - both in a beautiful display box, and in easily transportable cloth bags. 😉
We will be back with more details on each game but until then, enjoy the pictures and check out the campaign on Kickstarter which is about to start today at 7 AM PST! 🙂
A copy of the game was kindly provided by the publisher. Read our content policy.
