A must try for every coffee lover

Who doesn’t like a delicious cup of coffee? And have you ever toyed with the idea of becoming a barista? 🤤☕ I sure did!
Coffee Rush lets you get a glimpse into the hectic life of a barista while you are trying to fulfill endless customer orders. It’s basically a race to finish as many recipes on your beverage cards as possible, while also trying not to fail orders, which is quite difficult in the peak hours! 🙀

It is a contract fulfillment game with 2 main clever twists that elevate it above similar games! 🕵️ First is how finishing an order causes the next 2 players in turn order to draw a new order card - this way each completed beverage brings with it an influx of new cards, so the game becomes this arena of survival, trying to be the last one standing. 😁

Second twist is the way you gather resources. There is a board with a 4x4 grid, each space depicting a type of resource. Players each have a meeple they can move on their turn 1-3 spaces orthogonally, gathering resources they move through. You can’t stop on a place with another meeple but you can move through it. All of these rules bring a delightful restriction to your recipe fulfilling plans. And that’s not all: you only have 3 plastic cups to hold ingredients in, and to fulfill a recipe you have to have exactly the required things in the cup, so you can’t just haphazardly collect everything.

On your turn you will be able to discard 3 completed cards (sacrificing VP) for an upgrade, like being able to move diagonally, or getting double resources from corners, occupied spaces or special ingredients. These will allow you to be much more effective in your barista-endeavours. 👍

The thing that keeps surprising me with lower price-point gateway games, is how amazing the component quality can be. Coffee Rush is a prime example of this, with little plastic cups to collect ingredients and 8 different types of thematic plastic resources. They look so good, I just want to eat the little chocolate and caramel pieces. 😅
